When my son Robert and I decided to go into business together, we made our dream
come true, opening the doors to our new family business in 2005. After finishing
his Bachelors degree in Business Administration two years earlier, at Albright College
in Reading, Pennsylvania, Robert went on to complete the Microsoft Certified System
Engineer training. At the time, I'd been a professional developer for 27 years,
but I went back to a Microsoft Gold-Certified Training Center to upgrade my skills
using the Microsoft .NET Framework. After six months training, I completed the Microsoft
Certified Solution Developer training. My son and I were the only father-son team
that had ever gone through the training cycle at the same time; and that year, I
was the only person at the training center to get a perfect 1000 point score on
a Microsoft Certification test!
Both Robert and I are Microsoft Certified Professionals, and we continue to work
toward higher certifications. I was inducted into "Who's Who in the Computer
Industry" in 1989. Robert, is a Networking and Security specialist, a Microsoft
Certified Desktop Support Technician, a Microsoft Small Business Specialist, a Microsoft
Information Worker Solutions specialist, a Microsoft Networking Infrastructure Solutions
specialist, and he has been certified by CompTIA (A+, Network+ and Security+) and
by IC3. Recently, Robert was selected as a "Who's Who" VIP member
of Cambridge's Who's Who Private Business Association. Out of the nearly
4 million Cambridge members worldwide, only the top 4 percent of those members are
selected as VIP members.
After Robert and I made the decision to go into business together, we noticed an
interest by other family members. As it turned out, my wife Ann, a retired teacher
with 33 years experience, became our Office Manager. My daughter Teresa, who has
a degree in Marketing, joined to help us gain a good footing in the local market,
and, her husband Richard Coy, took over the other thousands of jobs. Rich is Shipping
Manager, Snow Shoveler, Lawn Mower Specialist, etc. You know, one of those people
that keep the wheels greased and moving! So, we became five equal partners in a
Limited Liability Corporation named Eagle Secure Solutions. We were determined to
use our strengths as a family to move forward and succeed!
Before the business began, Robert and I were Registered Microsoft Partners. Eagle
Secure Solutions became a Microsoft Certified Partner shortly after the business
started in 2005. Since that time, we've also become business partners with Intel,
IBM, Hewlett-Packard, Dell, Seagate, Nvidia, Sony, Computer Associates and Diskeeper,
among others, and we've been a Gold Partner with Microsoft for two years. We believe
these partnerships have helped us to keep up with new technology, keep our costs
down and still offer our customers superior products. We also believe these partnerships
will show our customers that we have a deep commitment to always offering them the
best, up-to-date hardware, software and service. Having access to this amount of
technical information from our partners, allows us to research users problems and
find answers much faster than usual.
